| This commission coordinates the disaster
management relief operations of member NGOs, using
specialized knowledge of Commission members. Effective
coordination of this sector requires that disaster
preparedness measures be put in place by the NGOs
participating in disaster management and relief. The overall
objective of the Commission is to contribute towards the
overall development of effective and coordinated mechanisms
for disaster and humanitarian relief.
Member NGOs in the DHRC are focused on activities relating
to:
- Provision of relief services
- Disaster management prevention and awareness
