Maseru – February 14, 2014: Lesotho Council of Non Governmental Organisations (LCN) in collaboration with President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Team Lesotho will hold a one-day consultation meeting on the Country Operation Plan (COP) 2014 at Lesotho Sun on 19th February at 8:30a.m - 1:00p.m.

The objective of the meeting is to increase participation of civil society in shaping the PEPFAR priorities in Lesotho.

PEPFAR is currently developing its Country Operational Plan for 2014, therefore, prior to COP submission, PEPFAR teams are conducting consultations with stakeholders to contribute on the COP. Civil society organisations form part of the key stakeholders to be consulted given the efforts that they make in the national response.

The (PEPFAR) is the U.S. Government initiative to help save the lives of those suffering from HIV/AIDS around the world. Lesotho is one of the partner nations that have enjoyed this historic commitment in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The meeting will draw participation from civil society organisations representing different groups; people living with HIV and AIDS, key populations, youth, disabled and other affected groups.
